Light Up Uganda!

In December, it was time to “Light Up Uganda!” as a team from Grüne Leuchte GmbH & Co. KG in Cappeln joined us on a trip to Uganda.

The mission of this highly motivated crew was clear: to bring electricity to our children’s home!

So many things we take for granted in our daily lives depend on electricity. In Uganda, that is far from reality — especially in rural areas where many people live without any power at all. That makes the impact of this mission all the more powerful. We were completely overwhelmed when we first heard about Grüne Leuchte’s plan to donate an entire solar power system for our children’s home.

But they didn’t stop there. The company assembled a dedicated team that traveled to Uganda to install the system on site. With energy, determination, and a heart for service, they got to work.

In addition to building the solar plant, important improvements were made to the sanitation facilities — a major success! The team also had the opportunity to meet our children, spend time with them, and learn more about their lives. Visits to families in need in surrounding villages were another heartfelt part of the trip, where donated items were distributed to support those living in extreme poverty.

For our children, having access to electricity means a huge improvement in their daily lives — better hygiene, better learning conditions, and simply a brighter future.
